Armorer’s Backplate (for Glock)
The Glock Armorer Backplate is a half-size slide cover plate designed for Gen 1–5 Glocks, excluding models 43, 43X, 48, and Gen6. This tool allows shooters to visually check the engagement of the trigger bar and firing pin lug without needing full disassembly. It is particularly useful when tuning a forced reset trigger (FRT) kit.
This armorer’s backplate is 2/3 the size of the standard cover plate, providing a clear view of internal components. It is not intended for use with live ammunition, as improper installation could lead to catastrophic failure. Always ensure compliance with state and local laws before purchasing.

Product details
The Glock Armorer Backplate replaces the factory slide backplate during disassembly and reassembly. Its primary function is to provide direct visual confirmation of striker, spacer sleeve, and spring alignment. This prevents blind reassembly of internal slide components and allows verification of correct striker engagement and reset behavior.
Glock specifies that the cruciform (sear surface on the trigger bar) must engage at least two-thirds (approximately 67%) of the striker lug for the pistol to be considered within safe specifications. The armorer’s backplate ensures this critical engagement is met, reducing the risk of damaged parts, inconsistent pull weight, or unsafe function.
